Summary

The goal of this project was to re-direct traffic away from the main entrance of Shannon Airport to a new set-down area located within the existing short term car park. This was achieved by the erection of gantry signs over the main road into the airport and substantial subsidiary signage, line marking and construction of traffic islands to guide motorists to their desired locations, through the short term car park via the newly constructed set down area, complete with covered walkway, and to the new exit.

All of these works were carried out in areas of high traffic. Throughout the duration of the project the efficient flow of both the public using the airport or the airport employees could not at any stage be impeded. This was achieved by extensive traffic management, planning and liaising with SAA as the safety of everyone encountering the works was imperative.
